Islamabad – Five days after the appearance of an Islamic State (IS) flag was noted in Islamabad, similar wall chalking seems to have appeared in the army controlled Pakistan Ordinance Factory area of Wah where a wall chalking of ‘Daesh’ (Arabic for Islamic State) was observed by local residents on Friday, police sources said.
As soon as the IS flag was observed in Islamabad, it created a lot of panic across the political groups and law enforcement agencies. The IS flag was removed immediately by the police and a FIR was registered under the anti-terrorism law.
Earlier on Thursday, similar wall chalking was observed of a local banned sectarian outfit, “Sipah-i-Sahaba Pakistan (SSP)” around electric poles in the Wah Cantt area.
An investigation had been launched against the FIR complaint against the SSP chalking; a senior police office confirmed that action over Friday’s Daesh chalking too.
