LAHORE: Punjab Revenue Authority issued notices to Google and Facebook to register themselves with Punjab Revenue Authority under Punjab Sales Tax on Services Act, 2012. Though both companies pleaded they do not fall under any criteria of this act as neither had any office nor employee in Pakistan, Punjab Revenue Authority said that both companies were considered taxable under Sales Tax on Services Act, 2012 as they had been carrying out economic activity in Pakistan via virtual presence, website and web portal.
